March for Science Recap

We brought some of our EVs to the March for Science in Titusville, FL at the Space View Park on April 22, 2017.  We also had our co-founder, Josh Pritt, as a speaker after the march to talk about Electric Vehicles and the science behind them.

The weather was just about perfect and there were nearly 300 people there.  We talked to over 100 just about electric vehicles as they came over to ask us all about driving electric.

Here’s a few photos from the event as well as a link to the full photo album.

Earth Day 2017 at Kennedy Space Center Recap

We were invited again to bring some of our electric cars to the Earth Day event at the Kennedy Space Center visitor complex.  We set up right next to the rocket garden this time and were much closer to where the people walk through.  There were well over 100 people that stopped by for electric vehicle information.  Almost every one of them didn’t realize there were so many different makes and models to choose from or that there were so many with the gasoline backup option.  We were there to explain the differences and how it works for us in our daily driving and how much we are saving by driving on locally produced electricity and some of us with the gasoline backup only buy 4 gallons of gas every 3 or 4 months.  These events at the KSC visitor complex are always great fun with plenty of other activities for the attendees to do and learn about taking better care of the planet.  NASA even brought a few of their electric vehicles to add to our display of cars!

Earth Day 2017 at NASA Recap

On April 20, 2017 we brought out several of our electric cars to be part of the Earth Day event NASA put on for their employees to attend.  There were many other vendors including Blue Life Florida, Florida Solar, and Master Gardeners.  We were set up right by the front door of the OSB II building right next to the Vehicle Assembly Building at Kennedy Space Center!  It was a treat to get to be “behind the scenes” right there on NASA property and get to talk to a few hundred employees about electric cars.  We might even get a few new members from some of those we talked to.  Here’s a few pictures from the event as well as a link to the full album.

WFIT Music Festival 2017

We had a GREAT time at the Sonic Waves Music Festival at FIT this past weekend!  We must have talked to 200 people about electric cars.  The WFIT radio station did a good job getting the event well organized and invited some really great live bands to perform.  We are looking forward to more awesome events like this on FIT’s campus.  Make sure to look for future events on our upcoming events page to see when we’ll be at FIT or a place near you.

Here are several photos taken during setup and while the event was going on:

April Monthly EV Meetup

The monthly meetup for April was held at the Panera Bread in Palm Bay.  We took over almost all the tables in the little room in the back while a few of our cars were parked over at the charging station in front of Kohl’s:

We talked about having a big, EV extravaganza event at the American Muscle Car museum sometime soon.  We will need to contact them and find a good time.  We’ll also need to think about what exhibitors we want to invite as well.  But first we really need to talk to the museum and get everything set up as far as day and time and logistics, etc.

The next events we talked about were the Earth Day events at Kennedy Space Center on the 20th and 21st.  These events are always really fun for us since we can have our electric cars parked out among all of the historic rockets and space history while we answer all the questions from the attendees that stroll by.  Earth Day is a great day to explain to everyone the environmental benefits of installing solar panels on your house then plug in your EV.  Several of our members do this and drive around every day on pure sunlight as fuel!

We’ll also be at the Earth Day event on the 22nd at the Enchanted Forest Nature Sanctuary in Titusville.  This will be our 4th time there with our cars and tent and table full of informational handouts.  We always get to talk to lots of people interested in EVs with plenty of questions to answer with our real-world experience of driving them every day.

As always, check our upcoming events page to see where you can find us next.
